WHAT IS COOP AND WHAT BENEFITS DOES IT PROVIDE?
The YTU KOOP Model (CO-OP - Cooperative Education), implemented within the scope of Vocational Education in Business, is an innovative form of traditional internship redefined. Often confused with internships, KOOP aims to improve cooperation between university and business. In this context, the point that should be underlined is that the internship in certain programs is a necessity; COOP is on a voluntary basis.
The university introduces the student wishing to COOP to the employer in the appropriate industry. The employer begins to prepare the student with the qualifications he/she is looking for for business life during the KOOP Training. In addition, according to research, the rate of preference of the university that implements KOOP Education increases in the following years. In summary, the aim of KOOP is to strengthen the bond between the university and the business world by internalizing it in a more organic way.

Application for Vocational Education in Business - KOOP
Students who want to be included in the Vocational Education in Business Administration, on the condition that they do not have any courses and have a CGPA above 3.00, can submit the Vocational Education Application and Preference Form to the Department Head by stating their business preferences between the dates announced by the Faculty at the end of the 7th semester for the year 2022-2023. (Annex-1) can apply. Vocational Training in Business is carried out full-time and uninterrupted for a period of one semester, in accordance with the working conditions and hours of the enterprises. The duration of the Vocational Training Course in the enterprise is fixed with the internship hours of the relevant company, and it must be carried out full-time and face-to-face as determined in the protocol.
Within the framework of the protocols made by the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department, the number of original and substitute students is determined and announced as much as the quota specified. Students make their applications by listing all the companies with which the protocol has been signed, according to their wishes.
If there is an additional quota in the semester in which the Vocational Training will be implemented in the enterprise, these additional quotas are announced before the relevant semester. Other students who are in the same semester as their Vocational Education in Business Administration and who do not have any other courses other than the courses counted for the Vocational Education Course in Business (Maximum 1 internship, 5 Elective-2 courses and graduation work) and who have not applied before can also apply.
